Manchester United Eyeing Potential Right-Back Signings

Manchester United is actively looking to strengthen their squad this summer by considering various potential right-back signings. One of the players on their radar is Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui. The 26-year-old Morocco international is reportedly being considered as a viable option to bolster the team’s defensive options. Additionally, the club has also shown interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong as a possible alternative.

With the recent addition of 18-year-old centre-back Leny Yoro from Lille, Manchester United is keeping their options open for further defensive reinforcements during the transfer window. Apart from Mazraoui, there is still lingering interest in Bayern Munich centre-back Matthijs de Ligt; however, the German side’s high valuation of over £42 million could pose a significant obstacle in securing his services.

The potential signing of a new right-back also depends on the future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka at Old Trafford. United is reportedly open to offers for Wan-Bissaka, who has attracted interest from clubs like Galatasaray and West Ham United. The club hopes to secure a fee of around £20 million for the 26-year-old, who has one year left on his contract.

As Manchester United prepares for the upcoming season, Wan-Bissaka is expected to be part of the squad traveling to Los Angeles for their preseason tour. The team is scheduled to play friendly matches against Arsenal and Real Betis as part of their preparations. However, the squad will be operating with a reduced number of staff as part of the club’s cost-cutting measures, which include plans to reduce around 250 jobs from the workforce.

The cost-cutting initiatives at Manchester United are being spearheaded by new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS team. The changes in staffing and financial strategies are set to have a significant impact on the club’s operations moving forward. As the club navigates through these changes, the fans and stakeholders will be closely monitoring the developments to see how it affects the team on and off the field.
