Manchester United is reportedly considering a move for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo this summer. The 26-year-old’s contract with Craven Cottage is set to expire at the end of the season, potentially paving the way for a free transfer to Old Trafford. Adarabioyo, who has featured in 20 Premier League matches this season and netted two goals, has also attracted attention from Newcastle, Chelsea, and Tottenham.
Having joined Fulham from Manchester City in 2020, Adarabioyo has previously had loan stints at West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn. Although he signed a contract extension with Fulham in January 2023, the defender is expected to depart the club once his deal concludes in June. United’s interest in Adarabioyo is part of their plans to strengthen their defensive options during the upcoming transfer window.
United’s Defensive Restructuring
The Red Devils are keen on reinforcing their backline this summer as they undergo a squad overhaul under the guidance of the club’s new football leadership team. In addition to their pursuit of Adarabioyo, United is also in line to receive a payment from Borussia Dortmund following Jadon Sancho’s contributions to the German side’s progress in the Champions League. The loan agreement between the two clubs, which was finalized in January, includes various add-ons tied to Sancho’s performances and Dortmund’s achievements in domestic competitions and the Champions League. While the initial loan cost Dortmund €3.5 million, additional payments up to €4 million are contingent on specified conditions being met.
