Despite Madrid filing a formal complaint with the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and claiming that the referee deliberately omitted crucial information from his match report, both the RFEF and LaLiga have stood firmly behind the official, Juan Martinez Munuera. LaLiga’s Executive Commission expressed absolute rejection of Real Madrid’s complaint and emphasized their support for Munuera and all Spanish referees.
LaLiga did not mince words when it called out Real Madrid for what it described as a relentless attack on Spanish referees. The league stated that Madrid’s actions were aimed at pressuring the officials to gain a competitive advantage.
