Inter Miami Pursuing Federico Redondo Transfer

Inter Miami Pursuing Federico Redondo Transfer

Inter Miami is reportedly in negotiations with Argentinos Juniors to sign Federico Redondo, a rising talent in Argentine football. The 21-year-old midfielder, who is also a part of the Argentina youth international team, comes from a strong footballing lineage with his father being the legendary Fernando Redondo.

Sources have indicated that Inter Miami’s discussions to acquire Redondo are at an advanced stage. The young midfielder falls under the U22 signing category, allowing the MLS club to benefit from a reduced salary budget hit of $200,000. In a bold move, Inter Miami is willing to offer an $8 million transfer fee to secure Redondo’s services.

Redondo made his mark in the Argentinos Juniors squad during the 2022 season and has since accumulated 59 league and cup appearances, finding the back of the net twice. His potential and talent have also been recognized at the international level, representing Argentina in the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup and featuring in the U23 squad during the CONMEBOL pre-Olympic qualifying tournament.

While Inter Miami is looking to bolster its midfield with Redondo’s addition, they are facing setbacks with another U22 signing, Facundo Farías. Farías is anticipated to miss the entirety of the 2024 season due to a severe ACL injury sustained during a friendly match against El Salvador’s national team. This injury serves as a reminder of the risks involved in professional football and the importance of player fitness and well-being.

As Inter Miami continues to pursue top talent like Federico Redondo, the club is making strategic moves to strengthen its roster and compete at a high level in the MLS. The negotiations surrounding Redondo’s potential transfer highlight the complexities and investments involved in acquiring promising young players with the aim of building a successful team for the future. Only time will tell if this deal comes to fruition and if Redondo can make a significant impact in the MLS with his skills and potential.
